This project focuses on designing a low-cost method to measure cutting forces in machining operations, by utilizing the use of piezoelectric elements attached to a vise. I was responsible for finding a way to establish a connection between a CN-0350 charge amplifier and a computer device. I used a Serial Peripheral Interface (SPI) communication protocol to acquire data from the charge amplifier to an Arduino microcontroller, and then to a computer device.
