About me

“You can be taught anything. But experience, my son, can’t be taught! You have to steal it! You have to truly want it!”

Those were the words my dad always used to tell me, and they have become an important principle in my life. My journey started with me asking more questions than other kids. I was obsessed with knowing how things work, and why are they designed in that way. I scored 6th place in my state in high school nationwide exams in my home country, and I earned first place in the Hadhramaut Establishment for Human Development (HEHD) scholarship evaluation test. I was granted a full scholarship to get my Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering at The Pennsylvania State University (Penn State), USA.

During my undergraduate studies, I joined the Mechatronics Research Lab group to do my undergraduate research. I became a member of Penn State Advanced Vehicle Team (PSU AVT), and we worked together for the capstone project. I also got engaged with many organizations and student clubs. I became a Treasurer in one, a Secretary in another, and a member in many more. I tried to diversify my experience and push myself outside my comfort zone, so I can learn as much as I can. I also participated in multicultural programs such as Global Engagement and Leadership Experience (GELE), and Foundations in Global Engagement (FiGE). I graduated in 2019 with a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, a minor in Engineering Mechanics, and a Business Fundamentals Certificate from Smeal College of Business, Penn State.

My journey then continued in Canada. I started my Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering at The Univerity of Calgary. I worked on for the Multifunctional Engineering, Dynamics and Automation Lab (MEDAL) on a project called "Smart Vice". Currently, I am working on my thesis research on vibration absorbers and dampers at the Intelligent Automation Research Laboratory (iAR Lab). I am also a Graduate Teaching Assistant for the Foundations of Mechatronics course (ENME 461).
